About

In March 2016, at the age of 35, I was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer. Only 3% of patients live 5 years or longer after receiving this diagnosis. Most die within the first year. I have a beautiful wife and two young children. This blog chronicles my experiences with cancer and the lessons I learn along the way.

One Year...

It has been one year since Rob left this mortal world and he is greatly missed.

He was exceptional.

September 2008

Rob “found a way into [our] hearts” and my go-to guy for everyday life and so much more. I am so blessed to have known him. The heartache is real but we are sustained by the grace of God.

Here is the video of Rob's Memorial Service. I am so grateful for his friends and mentors who graciously spoke at the service.

I have thought of him at so many times and in so many different ways this past year. Exceptional is the perfect adjective for Rob. I miss him. We are praying for you and the kids. Blessings on you, Melissa.

Melissa, you are often in my thoughts and prayers. When I woke up this morning my 'a year ago today' on my phone reminded me that this was the day Rob left us for a better place. He was exceptional...I am so thankful to have known him. Much love to you and the kids.♥️

We too are thinking about the kind and good man Rob was as we knew him. It's an additional blessing to hear you share.
May God fill your life and your children's lives with blessing as He cares for you and you remember Rob. We love you!

I teach technical writing at a university in the northeast, and have shown Dr. Yale's videos for years in class: he is an excellent presenter and obviously a wonderful teacher. I "happened" to visit his website yesterday in search of more teaching videos, and learned, to my great shock and sadness, that he had left this world a year ago. Such a tragic loss! I am also a believer, and know Dr. Yale is alive and well in the presence of the true and perfect Word. Melissa, though I don't know you, my prayers are with you and your beautiful children.
